    Where is the Minecraft launcher?

I'm using the demo version of Minecraft to see if the game and I are compatible. After exiting the game, I wanted to find the launcher to start it for next time, but cannot do so. There doesn't seem to be a shortcut or a minecraft.exe. I found the two .minecraft folders under %appdata/roaming/.minecraft and %username/%appdata, neither of which seems to have an actual launcher for the game. I'm certainly not going to pay almost $30 for a game that doesn't have a standard EXE launcher.

    Thank you.

The launcher is right there in your screenshot, it's the launcher.jar file, which is a compiled Java executable. Some Java programs are actually distributed in this way, it's normal. The actual .exe is the Java main executable in program files.
