Please don't get offended but I doubt that you will be able to play anything but very light games. The best thing you can do is go to this website Can You RUN It | Can I run that game | Game system requirements and check the games you would like to play and it will tell you whether you can or not.

    Good Luck

You're better off upgrading to at least, A Dual Core. That thing is older than my 7 year old PC and it's a single core (Socket 754).

For more modern games I think you'd be better off starting fresh. You can build a new PC that will equal or best current Gen consoles pretty cheap.

    Check this out for example:
Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, LED LCD TV, Digital Cameras and more - Newegg.com

Thats just the base system and you'll still need a couple other things. But it will all depend on what can be re-used to save money.
For example, you could reuse the current HD, CD/DVD Drive. and case you have.
By the time you add a decent Power supply, and small GPU, I think you could swing it for around $400-500.

Then theres the question of Windows itself, if you have a legit key that can be used or if you need another copy.

For gaming, it may be cheaper to go with a console. As even last Gen consoles may give you a better gaming experience than what you currently have .. sadly.
Again, it all depends on what you need to replace, and what could potentially be reused.

of course, if money isn't a huge obstacle, you can build one beast of a machine.

I wouldn't sink much into what you currently have though as it will not yield a huge performance gain for anything beyond light gaming as already mentioned. I just think any potential upgrade budget would best be used towards a new system instead. but thats just me.

If you like turn-based, strategy games with tanks, you might could run Scorched 3D (Scorched3D | Download - Free Full Game - Open Source), which is free. I'm not entirely sure about your graphics card, though.

You might could run games like Uplink, Defcon, maybe Multiwinia and Super Hexagon (all available through Steam), but your system is just too underpowered to run most other games (and it's pretty close to the system requirements on the last two). Look into the specs a little bit before purchasing anything just to make sure it will run (as we should all probably do).

    Good luck with your gaming!

What graphics card or is it onboard. If so what motherboard does it use or just tell me the pc model if it's a pre built so I can look up the specs to better recommend. Honestly i'm more of a rpg guy now a days use to be a fps lover. I would say get a copy of skyrim , dragon age , the witcher and oblivion. Those are really good imo. Also Mass effect 2 that's a mix of rpg and shooters.

With that you can't even play almost anything but much older games. You're better off buying a new graphics card or buying a whole new system

But the question remains, what kind of games would you like to play?
Otherwise, it's difficult to recommend anything, or I would do it based on my personal taste.
