Hi and welcome
We need the exact error. go into event viewer. type event viewer in search and go to windows logs>application tab. look for errors (red "X" in left column) that relate to the problem. look for app crash, app hang, etc. find the ones with your game in them. when you have found them note the event ID and source and post them.
To check on your directX status you can type dxdiag in search
You can also try running in compatibility mode. right click the file that launches the app and go to compat tab. Check run as XP
Let us know if you need help with any of this.

Howdy. I'm getting a HoN hang when I try to access the HoN menu in-game by pressing f10.
I have a NVIDIA GeForce 8200M G updated to latest driver.
I followed same steps you mentioned to OP. Here's the error note:

edit: After trying multiple ways to reproduce the error, i am unable to. Very perplexing, considering I was 100% erroring before I posted.

*shrug* sometimes crazy things happen which cannot be explained fully
I do know HoN works in Win7 Environment as does LoL (League of Legends)
