I purchased MW2 and find it lots of fun unlocking different weps and kits, I have no graphic problems actually they are great graphics in the game runs smooth unless yes a host leaves but i have seen that one time out of countless games, Yes you cant have dedicated servers but you can host games and invite friends and also invite to games your not hosting, The old days Hosting was done by players not dedicated servers ( Ghost recon Original) so its not like its that drastic, Yes having a dedi would be nice but not all games are made specific for having clans, some are just to have fun. The game play is more a fast pace experience and 2 player coop missions are great, Shoot on the flames but i enjoy the game and think i made a good purchase, I am not saying that I wouldnt like dedi support and the such, it would be a great asset to the game, What i am saying is I like what is there to play with.

It sounds just like the people who get bent out of shape over Left 4 Dead 2 coming out a year after the first one.

EA Sports gets away with complete BS EVERY year. Every one of their sports series is basically the exact same game, year after year, with a couple new features, tweaks, and updated rosters. And nobody bitches about boycotting the next version of Madden. In fact, people actually line up to get the latest version at midnight, ditch work, and even hold televised tournaments.
I'm with you to a point. It is the dynamic for the time being and so it seems more kosher and allowed, but really the games DO depend on an actual real life sport that also has a YEARLY season. So it makes WAY more sense.

And I was bent over L4D2 as well. They really let L4D1's support slide to rush out the 2nd one. But that's just because they couldn't predict or foresee L4D's huge popularity. And L4D2 has a TON of new stuff. I've played the demo. It's amazing. It could not have been implemented into L4D1.

MW2 is destroyed because IW wanted it that way. No other reason.

And Steam is actually a REALLY nice program once you get to using it comfortably. I understand the hatred of installing other programs, but if you play multiple steam games, it's such a nice system. It's like AIM/MSN Messenger, a game update system, and an archive that will PERMANENTLY FOREVER allow you to re-download old games if you lose the CD or have to reformat etc.

Edit: by the way, you can add every game out there into steam and use it thru the steam network so people can see what you are playing, and keep in touch etc. Also it allows you to use the Shift-tab feature in any game. Once you get a nice friends list going it's fun to see/use.

Speaking of which. my steam ID is Staticdeath107. Just toss me an invite if you use it and let me know youre from SF.com

    The thing with steam?

I hate it now for one nasty reason: It refuses to work. Dunno why, and to be honest, I kinda don't care.
I can't really explain it. The feature and idea of it is AMAZING, but I just don't like it.

    Probably because its not working.

Also, on both L4D and the 2 demo, one type of server ALWAYS freezes the game. Without fail.
    Everytime.

    What the ***?

So much for my $30 on L4D, and I WON'T be buying the second.

With EA Sports and the new Madden every year is complete BS but people still buy it and wait for it. With PC and consoles now having DLC you would think they would create a game that you buy for $30 and then the next year have a $15 roster update pack with some addons. Then in three years have another 30 buck game that changes the engine/game play then do the DLC again. This would save EA millions in printing fees and maybe we will see a better game. Ah a dream world that would be. Since people keep linning up now they will never change it.

As for L4D I think they first one was a trial run and ever was ment to be built up like it could be they threw the product out thinking it would flop, but when it hit big they took what they had left and created the game it should've been and called it L4D2.

People expect rubbish from EA these days. That's why less people complain

I pre purchased MW2 and the game is awesome, graphics are really right on the money, the game play is smooth and i have used Steam for more than a year, with no issues. Steam makes it easy to get in game with buddies and is really not intrusive, hell you can turn off most of the stuff if you want to.

I purchased MW2 for the SP, the MP is just run and gun crap anyway (for me), if you guys like it more power to ya. Hell everyone has their opinion and their choices to make and that is your right.

The only aspect of MW2 that irks me is the fact they took out the "lean", who the hell doesnt use lean in a FPS? That by far has got to be the stupidest idea i have seen. Games going back at least 2 years have lean. Other than that the game is awesome and well deserving on the "Game Of The Year" title.

The lean feature has been around like 10years. It's live caveman days of gaming that they reverted to. I like how they tried to hide it and actually did so well that no one has ANY idea lean was taken out until the day after release.

Steam should be fine once you get it working. Sorry that it's being difficult. I've never heard of a problem with steam.

I've never understood the use of the "lean" technique. I just strafe...it's quick, and you don't need two buttons for essentially the same move.

Leaning will not save you from me. Your head still sticks out, and that's what I'm aiming for, anyway!

Now, if they wanted a real useful button, it would be the "stick your arm around the corner and fire blindly" technique that computer opponents have, and users never get.

I believe something like this was done in Gears of War where you could shoot over the top or around items without your head or body out...
