Screen delay when on high gaming settings

when gaming I have to have the game on low settings otherwise it feels like i'm using a wireless mouse. bumping the settings up i'm guessing obviously takes more for the GPU to work on but I don't even take an FPS hit it just increases input delay. PC specs

    - MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard AM3+
    - AMD FX-8350 @ 4.20 GHz
    - GTX 750ti (Asus 2GB)
    - OCz Agility 3 240GB SSD (Boot)
    - WD 1TB HDD BLUE 7200RPM
    - Seagate 5400RPM Drive 500GB
    - G-Skill Rip Jaws @ 2133MHz
    - Zalman Z9+ Case
    - Corsair CX500W
    - Windows 7 64 Bit

sounds like pre-rendering frames to me, have a look in nv control panel and see if you can find "maximum pre-rendered frames" and set that to 0 also check a few other things in there (turn off triple buffering if not using vsync etc...)

Is this with a single game or all games play like this?

The term you are looking for is "input lag". Search google for it with your game's name.

What MrNeeds suggested is a common solution, so try that first.

As an example, one link among many others graphics card - Decent FPS for my game but experiencing input lag - Super User.
