Left 4 Dead 2 thinks I am in UK

    Hey everyone!

I've had this problem recently after using VPN. I noticed that the servers that are displayed are from either UK, other parts of Europe and US. I'm not sure if I can handle 430ms of ping when playing on asian servers since I live in the Philippines and the traffic's not pretty heavy. Any ideas?

If you're running a free VPN then I think your choices are limited. It may be worth reading up on VPNs and seeing which allow you to choose your country, although I'm not sure how many will offer you a great ping.

I forgot to say that I disabled the VPN before I play Left 4 Dead 2, I hope this helps. I played CS: Source a while ago and I didn't have that problem.

The only thing I can think of in that case is to try reinstalling the game or verifying the game cache through Steam. I'm pretty stumped on that one.

I'd shoot an email off to Valve Support if there is no obvious setting related to location that may have been changed, to be found. [in Steam or Windows]

Did it do this before using the VPN too? If yes, give your ISP a call.
I had this problem where matchmaking on BO2 brought me into French lobbies all the time.

White flags before a round even started?

Boozad :) I remember an episode of The Simpsons where Lisa was Joan D'Arc and the French were talking how they didn't have a word for victory.

I hope French friends don't get upset

I am not very familiar with L4D2 however just learned this, hope it helps:
    - enable "allow developer console" in options keyboard/mouse
    - press ~ to bring console up
    - enter "openserverbrowser"
    - I don't see any Internet games but plenty of servers if I select "custom"
    - click "change filters"
    - you can now set Latency/Location/Anti-cheat etc
    - also right click on any server on the list to: connect/view server info/refresh server or add to favorites
