Graphics Card making HUMONGOUS sounds after editting Game Config File

A BIZARRE thing happened whilst , trying to edit a Game User Config file.Apparently , i did something wrong which perhaps started having some detremental effects on my Graphics card FAN.

I was trying to tweak settings for Metro 2033 by editing the values in it's User Config files.I read somewhere to edit the config file and then copy it to an other config file.

Thus i editted the config file from My Documents > User Name > Local > 4A Games > Steam > UserData > User.config (Or something)

Then i copied this file and pasted it to the Game's Root Folder.Whilst playing the game afterwards,my Graphics card started making a CONSTANT loud noise which i have never heard before. It was as if , a Plane is taking off and it stays in that position consistently. I quickly realised that this happened soon after i changed settings of the Game's config file...

Is it really possible that a Grapchis Card gets affected like that by WRONGLY editting OR playing with a Game's Config file ....?

Probably fan spinning faster because of the chip releasing more power

    May be..

Actually to confirm my suspicion, i quickly opened an other game to see if i was wrong & it was only the card that was somehow going bad.

But no,after 1 or 2 minutes the Graphics Card's fan started spinning normally like it does usually.

Only when i edited the config file and pasted it on to the Root folder, that loud consistent sound came..

I have uninstalled the game though and will install it again.

This time i won't be pasting the config file anywhere. ....

    Found a fix...

Well , i installed the game again .And after trying to apply and re-apply settings several times , i have realized that this game will run on MAS settings with "HIGH" setting instead of "VERY HIGH".

Even though games like MGS V : The Phantom Pain , COD Advanced Warfare , GTA 5 are running at around 60 fps ..

An older game i.e Metro 2033 will only run around 50 fps with "HIGH" settings

Anyways, regarding the loud sound from my Graphics Card.I did not heard it again.I believe that copying a config file in the Game's root folder certainly did something wrong and the Graphics Card starting going bad.
