Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Ok guys.. i'm starting to get at a loss again... I have just completed a full format and clean reinstall of Ultimate, downloaded steam again.. and also even downloaded all the steam games again.. cs, tf2, l4d...

NOW i go into a game and still it wants to go to a black screen likes its going into the game and freezes the whole computer.

HAS ANY1 else had this issue with steam and windows 7? because i'm starting to really get sick of it.. and to spend $250+ on OEM and still have issues.. is just a windows joke..

Has anyone had this issue and fixed it??

I have also tested it with crossfire turned off.. and still same issue...

I know this doesn't help your cause, but I have steam working just fine under Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) You can check my system specs to see if anything helps give you a clue.

And when you say you reinstalled steam, did you reinstall it on another drive other then the main OS drive? If you did, did you remove the old steam folder before reinstalling?

My point - If you're reinstalling to the same folder, you may have a corrupt file. There's also a way to clear the cache, but I forgot how, but there are instructions on Valve's website. You may want to check there.

Also, I'm sure this has been asked, but have you checked your monitor drivers? Sounds more like a video issue than anything else.

OK, here's the instructions for checking the games integrity (cache) under steam...

Verify the game's files by right clicking on the game from your Steam game's list:

Local Files tab>
Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
