    Gaming on Win7

Hey guys, i just registered to the site because i'm in need of some assistance if you guys can help me.

    I currently have an i7-920 @ 3.8ghz, 6gig ram, asus P6T-SE m/b and currently running windows 7 ultimate.

Now the stupid issue i'm having is when i attempt to play a game weather it be Steam (cs, l4d, tf2) SOMETIMES (5/10) my computer will attempt to go into the game screen goes black and then nothing computer froze.

This is also happening when i attempt to play COD4 MW & MW2. Can anyone help me with this? Because its quite annonying that I have to constantly restart until it works.

And I thought windows 7 was surpose to be better then vista. Atleast I had no issues with games on vista

    Thanks guys.

None of the games he listed should have problems running in Windows 7.

JayJay01, did you do a clean install or an upgrade to 7?

Agreed. If you didn't do a clean install, then that is most likely your problem.

    Hey jayjay01,

I see you're running two? 4890's. Could be a crossfire problem. Have you tried disabling it?

Also you might want to check out these guys here Rage3D Discussion Area, specifically the Cat driver section.

Obsolete drivers (monitor, Video & sound) are, for the most part, the cause of many of your game issues.

    +1 on the crossfire issue.

    Agreed.

If it was happening on your previous OS and is now happening with 7 its an issue with your hardware and or driver setup.

Hey guys, thanks for the options, I had 9.9 drivers for ati i have downloaded 9.10 and see how that goes.

All other drivers are upto date due to the asus cd didn't work on win7 so i had to download them.

See nah it didn't happen in Vista. Its weird. Only windows 7
