Haha. Thought it was strictly "professional".
Hi,
The windows version hardly matters
It's the hardware inside the computer that makes the difference on how well a game works so make note of the Recommended system spec's the games quotes before buying the game :)
Minimum system requirements too.
Fill in your system spec's page with the link above my signature so we might see at a glance what you have.
The only advantage Pro version has is it has group policy for other users on the same machine and I believe can allow more memory but again that is also a mother board restriction too.
You can game just as good on Home premium.
This is a common misconception regarding Home, Pro or Enterprise versions of Windows. The base OS is the same for all versions. However, the Pro and Enterprise versions include additional modules that the majority of users don't have any need for.
Lots of people pay extra to get the Pro version thinking it's higher performance or somehow better when in fact, it isn't. For the most part, if you don't need to join a domain or need to be able to use different languages, you will be perfectly fine with the Home version.
When a company's IT department installs Windows on a machine for work purposes, they may choose to not install any games and may block a user from installing games, but the OS is still fully capable of playing games (provided the hardware is up to par).
Not really. It just means something along the lines of "includes features meant for professional use", but in fact any version can be used for anything. Even the server editions (2008 R2) are perfectly capable of gaming, as long as the hardware allows.
But in short yes, you can play games in it as everyone else said.
Thanks for the replies. Strollin, I was hoping to get Home Premium however it's been phased out here in the Philippines. They only retained the Professional version. Everywhere is just Windows 8 and 10 and I hate them!
Trashzone you can check out my specs:)
If you want proof of this, look at the piracy end of things. When they're not paying, pirates always go for Win7 Ultimate thinking they're getting 'the best version' - aka 'bragging rights'.
I've been reading this forum for years and whenever a fake mgadiag turns up, nine times out of ten it's Ultimate - invariably on a decrepit old POS machine. In fact, whenever I read an activation thread and it's about a $10 laptop sporting $300 Windows Ultimate (original price), I think - I know where this is going . . .
