You say that from what you have seem, most are addicted, yes. But you shouldn't categorize all who play games by this one fat, asinine imbecile you have seen...
I'm a rather thin person, get superb grades, do well on tests and, perhaps, a "bit" intelligent. I have no claim over my intelligence, but I value it.
I do my homework before any games, I don't own a console, only a PC. I'm not an addict, it's what I do and plan to do that, being on a computer, for my career.
I show respect others and know my duties, I'm no slob and I hate wasting time.
Therefore, おじさん, you must know a little about the rest of the group... meaning, us, before you think of us as fat slobs who don't care about intelligence.
Good day
@andsome: its fine if you wanna run your mouth, but please dont do it here. this thread is for those who want to discuss games. please respect the rules and other members, we dont need your negativity.
@andsome
I am probably as old as you are and yet you (as well as myself sometimes) are forgetting that we grew up with Bugs Bunny and alike in the theaters and those cartoons were extremely violent. The coyote was always trying to kill the roadrunner. I do not believe that I turned out violent but I sure loved going to the movies and watching violent cartoons.
Plus we were dealing with war in a way that the wars of today cannot compare. Now it is all on TV and it does not affect us, kids just say eh it is a war “who cares”, but in those days we had to do without because things were needed for the war. War was on our parents minds it was in our lives. But again we did not grow up killing people even thought REAL killing people was all around us growing up.
Just my 2 cents. I was only trying to remind myself that many times everyone has some type of violence in their life. Now-a-days it is games, back then it was real war.
There are a lot more games than just the ones where killing is involved (racing, puzzles, flying etc).
You expressed your opinion which, as distorted as it may be, you have every right to do that. But it seems as if you purposely came into the "gaming" section of this forum with the intent on starting a confrontation. Please refrain from doing so in the future. KTHXBAI
Edit: oh ya BTW I am currently playing Black Ops, Just Cause 2 & BFBC2
Well, I enjoyed that brief trip away from games. Loosen up folks, you take yourselves far too seriously.
it's good that we've got an ignore list in our control panels.
Different strokes for different folks. While I'm not all that much of a fan of the FPS, I certainly love racing games. An addiction no matter what it is is never good and it's up to each individual to take it upon themselves to break the addiction. Personally, for a time I was somewhat addicted to games though at the time I wasn't all that overweight. I then one day stepped back and evaluated my life and saw that quite frankly, I was doing nothing productive. One day, I decided to clean myself up and instead of just playing games after going to college, to instead get a full time job. Once I did that, I had so little time for gaming (though I had the craving), I simply didn't do it. Eventually, the craving went away and now, although I do game every so often, it's not a craving, it's more of a regular pass time, like a hobby of mine.
It's up to each person to take control of their lives and break any addiction they may have. If gaming becomes your life, then you may need to reevaluate your life if it's detrimental to your health but as said before, just because some gamers are obsessed doesn't mean all are, some of us are much more casual than others. Killing, killing, killing? Hey, that's when I go play games like Sonic Unleashed, NFS ProStreet, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, and others that don't really do that and are more cartoonish or have nothing to do with any type of jumping or killing. As is often and truthfully said, anything and everything in too great a quantity is bad, all in moderation is good.
Speaking of gaming, I have gone back to The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and it's a fun game to play again. Also wanting to go back to Team Fortress 2 after about 2 and a half years of not playing it but I need to get a new hard drive before I can do that, very little space left!
