I will get Dead Space 2 some day. So, I fired up Dead Space this morning. High settings, runs like a top and at my high res and old vid card. It is a cool game. 3rd view is a lil odd for me, but the game is good. A lil creepy, looks nice, short maybe..

I will have some fun with videos and animated gif's etc..

the GTX 560 huh? cool. hows your current card holding up?
If you're talking to me, my 4890 is holding up rather well. Haven't found a game I couldn't play. It's just time to move into the DX11 world now, though the only DX11 game I have is Metro.

Just got an e-mail from Amazon saying they are refunding my one day shipping costs since I can't get my card today due to bad weather in Indianapolis.

Hope I get it tomorrow XXX
Just to update - I did get my card. Posted about it here

And Dead Space 2 is pretty good - up to chapter 8 now. Good game thus far :)

Didn't notice any "graphical" difference with it on the 6950 as opposed to to 4890 though.

    hurray..!!
got a second-hand copy of Oblivion today from Play.com
only about 8 million side-quests to go..

I've busted two of my previous DVDs just taking them out of the case..
..seems like they are fixed too tightly to that little blip thing on the box..

    - got those horrid little hairline cracks in the centre that spread outwards..

    - had the same prob with Thief3 as well..

Hm, any disc I have to use a lot, I put them in the lil paper or Tyvek sleeves what ever they are called. Has the clear plastic on 1 side to read the disc. They all sit very nice in my fallout3 collectors ed lunch box.

As for disc' in a jewel case. Normally if you first press down on the center or spindle it will release the disc. The teeth retract when you press down on the spindle. Some folks do the same to put a disc back into a case.

Its funny, I just checked the wiki for the heck of it. It has lots of info about cd type case's but not 1 word about the proper disc removal technique. I think I figured it out 20 some years ago- the first time I had to get a music cd out of a jewel case. If I think long enough I might remember the actual title. Hm I remember when cassette and 8track and the walkman vcr's what ever came out. Ha ha I was there when a lot of the great music and genres came out too- rap punk newwave disco pop house to name a few.

    Oh ya, enjoy your game..

    Great game!

Well... once you get used to the controls.
Oblivion on PC was a bit to get used to for me @ default settings. But finally got bindings I liked.

Keep an eye out on Steam. Sometimes they have a sale on Oblivion GOTY, and its around $8.00.
Worth it I think, as you wont need to worry about the disc :)

I just started playing Half Life 1, non steam version. I am not really used to the genre yet and the whole scripted sequences. I am used to playing 1st person and 3rd person shooter games, but for some reason Half Life actually gets me scared playing it. It also has that more in-depth feeling to the game.

If you get a chance you really want the source game steam. It looks and plays much better. It the same game with enhancements to the game's engine.

    - Half-Life: Source
    - Half-Life: Source on Steam
