Need For Speed Underground 2. I had the urge to play it again.

So, Im looking to pick up a new game today.
A bit undecided exactly what I want though ...
ATM, Im strongly considering Metro 2033.
I also noticed STEAM had Risen on sale this weekend for $15
Anyone have any good or bad input about this game?
Not to crazy about the fact it has TAGES DRM even on STEAM.
Or... any other suggestions worth considering?
was considering this when there was a sale on Steam. after watching GT review decided that it's too much like Stalker: overall feel and bugs. got Overlord pack and Frontlines: Fuel of War instead
tages? good thing i didn't get itI also noticed STEAM had Risen on sale this weekend for $15

Ok, so I got Metro and been playing around with it some.
On Very High, my poor little 4890 chokes big time. Its sad really, graphically the game is very nice
At any count, I have it set at Normal right now. Will experiment w/high later.
But 1 thing thats bugging me to death is the Image tearing.
Its not real bad, & only in certain areas, usually around fog.
(Witcher did the same thing, in the skys though.)
So Im trying to get Vsync to stick by turning it ON in cfg file. Doesnt seem to help though
Anyone else notice this?
Might have a another issue going on here in regards to the tearing.
The game is running well for me. Here's my video settings for comparisons....
- DX11 - Grayed out - the 4890's don't support DX11
- Resolution - 1680x1050
- Quality - High
- DirectX - DX10 - (Game set to DX10 since card supports that mode)
- Antialiasing - AAA (other choice is MSAA)
- Texture Filtering - AF4X
- Gamma - Medium
This is pretty much what the game chose during install, and with these settings I have no issues as of yet. Certainly no tearing.
Haven't found a need to play with the cfg file as I've had no tearing issues or other issues yet.
Right now the game is running rather well with my setup. BTW my video card is not/nor has it ever been overclocked. CPU OC, not v-card.
Hope this helps.
