Playing some Dirt 3 myself at the moment. Loving it so far and it's just as good as the second one. Actually it's a bit more professional than Dirt 2 due to only getting the silly "Hey dude!" talk when in Gymkhana. The rest of the time it's pretty well laid back voice overs that glide you in to the action, while of course reassuring you along the way.

Paired with a Xbox 360 wired controller and i happen to have access to my 42" LCD HDTV sat at the side of me has a second screen to play on while we wait for the living room to be re-carpeted. It's all good!
I've looked forward to Dirt 3 for some time but when I found out the US was one of those not getting a retail DVD I decided to wait and see where I might get an English version. Did you download or find it on DVD?

OK Guys i have a question... there are lots of games coming out and the problem is that my PC specs are not good enough to handle any new games with decent performance. You can see my system specs below :) i want to know if i change my GeForce 9600GT and get something better like GeForce GTS 450 or something similar or even better in performance in same price so will it be a good decision? Coz in my country i cant seem to find a Quad Core processor anywhere even in Used and i dont have enough budget right now to upgrade to Core i5 etc. I wanna play The Witcher 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Crysis 2, Fable III, Dirt 3, HomeFront, Just Cause 2, Assassins Creed: Brotherhood, Hydrophobia Prophecy and some others before December :) Please advise.

    Well:

Just Cause 2 runs well on most setups. its pretty well optimized. You may not be able to totally MAX out all the visuals, but it should be playable and look good.

Witcher 2 is pretty demanding, graphically. Im honestly not sure how well the game would run on your setup, but It certainly would not be playable at higher settings. You may be able to get by at lower settings.
Im not entirely sure here TBH, I already had my GTX570 when I started playing this one.
Perhaps others may chime in in with some more specifics, but Im thinking Witcher 2 may be problematic for you.

    Hydrophobia:
This game would probably be fine. Just need to turn down shadows and maybe particle effects.
(I believe this to be more of the game needing some otimizations) The gameplay was a little bit laggy in a couple areas but overall it ran well.

Very Good game, especially considering the price. Although a bit short.
If you are the type that hates games with water levels and swimming, probably not the game for you. Theres a LOT of it. Not that its a bad thing :)

I can not comment on the others you listed.

Although not on your list, another little Indie game Id like to mention is
    Amnesia the Dark Decent.
If you like horror games its a good one :) Truly a survival horror.

for all those thinking about getting homefront, then i now recommend thinking twice and saving your money.

my first impressions were that it was a good fun game, singlepayer campaign was shortish but enjoyable, but after playing multiplayer for a while, serious problems soon became apparent, such as a severe lack of any teamplay (it has squads, but no-one can figure what they are for - you can't spawn on squadmates, nor can you voip with them).

yesterday it got patched, which only seems to have introduced more problems, such as screwing up the server browser (i can only see dozens of empty ones, and all my favourites have disappeared - you now have to hunt down the ip addresses to join).

in short, the game seems to be a camp-fest, greatly favouring hiding out on a rock and sniping. if you want to help your team by capturing objectives, then you are greatly outnumbered and are at the mercy of campers, whose weapons have been buffed and are now mainly one-shot kills. once they've got a few kills under their belts, they can buy an airstike, which rains serious death from above, earning them more points to buy the next airstrike.

oh, i forgot to mention the hackers and spawnkillers!

the game has been slowly dieing with so many empty servers, and the eagerly awaited patch seems to have killed it off completely.

    r.i.p. homefront.

but don't just take my word for it - if you're thinking of buying it, check out the forum and see what others are saying. there's also a serious lack of input from developers on the forum too.

    bring on bf3!

Did you get through that last level - beat the game? How was it for you?

It kicked my butt a few times, then when I finally beat it..... crash to desktop - do not get achievements, do not pass credits, do no get unlocked time trails.... play it over again, and take this lag with it

BTW here's a thread on the issue I posted about SARA - How to arrive Mila? - Steam Users' Forums

Anyways I had really bad performance in that area and posted about it here - UPDATE - DARKNET DEV FEEDBACK - Page 3 - Steam Users' Forums but got no feedback so....

There's also a patch that was supposed to fix the SARA issue but I'm not sure Steam updated the game. Anyways I uninstalled the game and will reinstall another time in hopes that the performance improves.

I suppose I got lucky. I didnt run into any bug In Saras room.
And I got my achievement for finishing the game, and credits as well

But, performance was down a bit in the last few rooms. A bit choppy.

Well I'm re-downloading the game right now to see if performance will improve, that last area was nearly unplayable for me. Updating my graphics drivers, lowering video settings made no difference.

I'm confused as it seems I’m the only one who complained about bad performance in that area. It also crashed there a few times as well

We'll see what the re-download does.
