Picked up Velvet Assassin on a whim, despite the relatively bad reviews. Haven't gotten into it seriously yet, though; however I already see why people generally dislike it. Oh well, have to play something before Deus Ex :3

I never finished VA - one forced replay too many. Not really a 'bad' game, it's simply too unforgiving.

    BFBC2 is much better, imo..

    - great fun, if you can find a well-balanced game online..!!
    - being a good team-player pays dividends, if you work in 4-man squads..

    - good maps, very realistic terrain, etc..

BFBC2 is a good game but i personally think that MW1 was better than BFBC2 :) but here i'm talking about SP Campaign not MP.

I only played Shift 1 for about 2 hours i remember and i think but Shift 2 Unleashed is actually improved in terms of Graphics and Gameplay both :) and yes its way better than Hot Pursuit coz HP was a disaster for me and it was just like playing Burnout Paradise
    ah, thanks :)
I do like team-based FPS games, but on games like CoD and MoH, everyone is just running around alone, killing everyone in a rather unrealistic manner with hardly any tactics (as when they die, they just re-spawn, so they don't mind. Just sayin', would be nice if people played FPS games like real life )
I enjoyed Hot Pursuit (well, I also enjoyed Burnout Paradise ), as they are both fun games but don't really have a 'grip' to make you want to continue playing them (Burnout Paradise especially lacks 'the grip', it's more like a casual arcade game :/). I did greatly enjoy all the old NFS games, and Shift 1 was enjoyable, so thanks both for your opinions, I'l be looking out for the two games in shops (or even amazon, as they're just around £10 each... )

Seeing as how I am a sucker for WW2, the concept was all it took to get me interested, you know, so of course I picked it up xD
I can see how the game can get frustrating; luckily for me, I haven't gotten into that sort of trouble just yet.

Yeah I just picked it up today and have to agree it a great game thus far. Kind of reminds me of Deus Ex 1 with all the options and so forth. In a funny kind of way it kind of has that old school Deus Ex feel.

I am a little disappointed in the graphics though as they look a little dated to me for a DX11 title.

Anyway you can definitely tell right off the bat that this game has tons of replayability with all the various ways/options to accomplish a mission.

Yeah It's definitely addictive and fun game. And even though I just started I can tell it's definitely worth the $50 bucks.
    Agreed on graphics. :)

I'm close to finishing first playthrough and already plan how i will play it second time.
Hope to fininsh it before Dead Island unlocks (9 september here). Steam pre-load is available already but i still haven't got my key form GMG

I finished the game twice and I loved it. And where the game is too unforgiving, the YouTube walkthroughs can ease the pain and make the experience more enjoyable.

Old school Splinter Cell in WW2 - it is a bit hard to resist

It was a particular section in a later level that forced me to rage quit. I got sidetracked and never picked it up again. Might give it another look one day.

True. Although iirc, I knew what to do - I just got pissed doing it over and over... :)

Been playing Red Orchestra 2 beta. I'm liking it so far, bit buggy at the moment though. Can't wait to play the campaign when it's released.

The Saboteur plays havoc on some machines, the first two time Veronique would go into the building to blow up nazis, and just wouldn't come back-and blew up!! Alice MR just crashes randomly, and sudden slowdowns-no matter what I do, editing ini or lowering settings. Guess its my luck!
