COD Infinite Warfare, what tweaks can I make to my rig so I can play?

My computer was top spec when I built it, but alas it is now showing its age. I could once play Crisis at max settings, but now it doesn't even meet minimum specs for infinite warfare .

Are there any tweaks I can make so I can play this game? My graphics cards and CPU are running standard and have never been overclocked. I have the "latest" drivers, although these are a couple of years old as my system is now considered ancient! I'm getting a frame rate of between 5 and 20 FPS and the game is unplayable.

I can't afford to upgrade so it's either tweak the machine or bin the game. Can anyone help please?

I don't know how much tweaking is going to help you, really. It's your GPUs holding you back.

For the latest games, it's time to upgrade those graphics cards. A Radeon RX 400 or 500 series will be enough, but that does mean an upgrade that you say you can't afford.

Maybe setting the game aside for now until you can afford a new GPU is the thing to do.

Thanks for your input. I suppose I was hoping I could maybe overclock my cards as a cheap fix.

It makes me wonder if the games designers aren't in cahoots with the hardware manufacturers. I mean the graphics on Crysis are still some of the best I've ever seen, even better than infinite warfare, yet my cards can handle Crysis with ease. So I now have a game that is inferior to a game I had 6 years ago, yet needs superior hardware to play it.

Methinks there is a scam going on here, and us gamers are paying the price.

CoDs games, even if console ports, are usually very well put together, polished and streamlined but I found CoDIW to be a huge hog. I only played it at a friend's house so I don't know if they made updates to fix all of the issues they were having with lag and audio. The game was freezing and hiccuping, more so at the intros to new missions. After couple of hours I was done with it and didn't care to buy if for me... and I have pretty much all of them so it is not like I am hating on this one.

Now, to your issue... mellon head has it right and you and I need to invest on a new rig
