    Has anyone successfully installed Bluestacks?

    Good afternoon,

As you can see from my specs I have a reasonably old laptop [about 2012 I think].
I have managed to install Bluestacks3 successfully but it stops at the very end of Starting Engine!
I do not have the virtualisation option in the BIOS.
I have the neccessary 2 GB of RAM [I have 4 GB of RAM] and more than 4 GB of HDD as required.
I have tried changing the Engine from OpenGL to DirectX and increasing the RAM in the engine to 2 GB.

    Thanks in advance, Paul.

Basically, I would like a FREE emulator to run just a couple of Apps [Mobdro etc].
I think that I am having problems because of the age of my laptop, although the specs are quite good!

I have done a bit of research and decided that I can live with the following.
I want to be able to cast/stream my android phone screen to my Windows 7 laptop.
Has anyone else managed to do this?
If so, what software [FREE] did you use to achieve this please.

    Thanks in advance, Paul.

Here Paul, I found the following two articles at the Blustacks website:

    https://support.bluestacks.com/hc/en...-Engine-screen
    https://support.bluestacks.com/hc/en...s/115005464826

articles suggest that you might be having issues with your antivirus program.

Hi iko22, I appreciate the reply,

I don't have any Anti-Virus installed on the test machine [if anything goes wrong I just reload the good image].
I am thinking that I will have more success trying to cast/stream my android phone screen to my Windows 7 laptop. The laptop is connected to my TV via a VGA lead and set as a projector.

    Thanks in advance, Paul.

Hi Paul, there is a discussion at the moment at Ten Forums about getting Bluestacks to work there too. They are having no success either. It has been suggested to run program in compatibility mode. Also try MEmu video game emulator instead. Sorry I cannot be any more help.

Did you tried launching Bluestacks with administrator privileges? I've ran Bluestacks many times with antivirus disabled and Run as administrator ticked and all problems with the emulator disappeared. That was long time ago though, because this emulator just sucks...

I have bluestacks running on both Windows 7 & 10. They have a uninstaller How can I uninstall BlueStacks completely? BlueStacks Support then install bluestacks 3n. Your ram is a little low that could be the cause, the more ram the better it runs.

I had previously read those articles trying to sort this out, but thanks anyway.
    I have got AV disabled.
I tried it with clicking on the .exe and selecting properties, changed it to compatibility mode [Windows 7] and clicked Run as administrator.

Yes, I did try this as per the comments above.

I used the un-installer that you mentioned above. I then downloaded and run Bluestacks 3n. The problem is, that it will not install because it says it can't write a registry key. Strange!

All I want to be able to do is to run the Mobdro app!

    Thanks all in advance.
