I have Windows 7 7600, but I still get kicked in Bf 2142. I've tried running Punkbuster A/B in compaility mode, the client in compability mode, but still no luck.

try running pbsvc.exe, followed by pbsetup.exe - run both of them as admin.

it's worked for my bf2 in the four different win7 builds i've tried so far, i didn't need to use compat mode myself...

also i've got UAC disabled - maybe it's worth a try (at least temporarily if you aren't concerned about possible security risk)?

Didn't work for me with build 7600 x64. Still getting the API kick in Call of Duty 4.

Looks like it does work for me.Tried to play COD4 two days ago anf got kicked from every server.
Today, after xfire updated it self, played almost 2 hours without a single kick. It's a 7600 x64.Only thing I change is that I ticked "allow to interact with desktop" in process properties of PunkbusterA.exe

Still kicking me in CoD4 with 7600 x64. Don't even have Xfire running and PnkbstrA.exe process properties doesn't have the option you mentioned.

EDIT: Found a solution which seems to work for me (may or may not work for others, this is Windows afterall).
