Using the Valve Index on Windows 7?

I'm thinking of getting the Valve Index VR headset, and while the official specs on Steam say Win10 Only, I've heard from a few people that have been able to use it on Win7 (mostly to play Half Life Alyx). I know I meet all the other specs required for it, but I wanna know if there are some specifics or stuff I need to make it work.

So, was wondering if there was anyone here who's part of that group; does anyone here has the Valve Index? Is there anything extra I'll need to buy/install to make it work?

Thanks in advance.
