HTC Vive Pro 2, on Win7

Im posting this here after searching allll over the internet, reading Reddit and other forum posts.
No one has an answer. Most people just caved in and changed to 10 but for a BOOK worth of reasons i wont be caving in.

I need to know, and have asked Vive directly now, (waiting for response back) if there is anyway they know of at all, to get Vive Pro 2, operational on windows 7

I am looking to buy the HTC Vive Pro 2 device, because it has less screen-door effect then any earlier-gen version of Vive series.
I meet all the Recommended specifications for my rig accept the win10/11 requirement.

The hangup i heard from others is, there is a special console software required for 'configuration' of the VivePro2
Yet there is talk in forums, that a version of that exists for win7 without further support, and that you need to email Vive staff to ask for that version of the software.

Others that were waiting for a reply from Vive Staff, never continued correspondence with thier thread, opting to fo to windows 10 instead of waiting.

I hope they will respond to me. I have not Purchased a VivePro2 yet. and i only intend to use it for my Racing games, so i can look around from the driver seat. Ill be holding a wheel or a controller for anything else.
Im not interested in MicrosoftAR which Microsoft is discontinuing AR anyway. i just want to try out my controller-comfortable games in VR, from a gaming chair. But i would like to buy the full package anyway for the chance that i can get my FUTURE Linuix desktop working with it. Or Steam-deck or something.

I don't know how long of a return window i would have if i can't get it running at all.

I wish some one here with a VivePro2 could test it with thier own win7 copy.
But when/If i get the unit, i will respond here about my findings. My win7 desktop exceeds the recommended hardware specs.

I sure hope they respond favorably. I really want to FINALLY buy a high resolution VR rig for my win7 with steam-compatibility.

If you install 10 and the run Atlas OS (it's a script) it'll remove all the crap. But you can't use updates. I tried Atlas OS and was pleasantly surprised by the results. Most telemetry was gone, just gone. Again, Atlas OS has to be deployed after initial 10 install.

    Hi F22 Simpilot

Good to hear from you again. Your posts on the "jan 1 2024 steam ending support" thread about your success with AtlasOS were appreciated. Im glad the info there we presented helped you make a good decision! Its probabbly best its brought up here too. But there are still people not ready to switch for other reasons. And as mentioned, neutered and lobotomized or not, Im not switching the machine in question to 10. Its good info for others yes, an alternative. But this is the sevenforums.com and as my OP states, the aid im looking for is for win7. AtlasOS is a good workaround. And at this point i wonder if AtlasOS (which uses a win 10/11 key to install) is somthing that will run from a Linux vm-ware. But i dont want to off-track this thread. Its a information repository for getting HTC Vive Pro 2, operational on a win7 os.
