No longer full screen when playing games.

After upgrading to windows 7 I am no longer able to play any games (example: Need for Speed: Most Wanted) in full screen mode like before on vista. There seems to be a Lot of people with this same issue as well but none have fixed the problem for me. I also tried to download and install Microsoft .NET Framework v4.0 beta 2 but that did not work either.
Please help anyone if you can, I've had more problems with windows 7 than vista already in less than one week.

    My Specs:
    Alienware M15x
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600)
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q 820 @ 1.73GHz (8 CPUs), ~1.7GHz
    4096MB RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M
    1600 x 900 (32 bit) (60Hz)

    1600 x 900 Windows 7 Games Not Fullscreen Fix

Thanks for nothing windows 7. I figured everything out by myself. Windows 7 is full of bugs and glitches, still I'm sure you were in a hurry to put it on the market but that doesn't give you an excuse to release a product that hundreds of millions of people will buy that is even worse than the program that already sucked (Vista). I was very very close to uninstalling windows 7, breaking the disc, and giving it to a homeless person if they would even accept the garbage.

As for the fix. After searching through tons of forums, everyone pretty much said the same thing, that it's a resolution issue. This is what worked for me with 1600 x 900.
FOR PEOPLE WITH NVIDIA, MAYBE ONLY FOR 1600 x 900 resolution:
    1. Go to control panel.
    2. Under "Appearance and Personalization" click on "Adjust Screen Resolution".
    3. Click Advanced Settings.
    4. Click your graphics card tab, (mine would be GeForce GTX 260M) and click "Start the NVIDIA Control Panel".
    5. (FOR 1600 x 900) Under Display click "Change resolution" and lower it to 1280 by 800 resolution, Apply and Accept.
    6. Click "Change flat panel scaling" then check the "Use NVIDIA Scaling" box, the top one, Apply, and close.

I hope this works for someone other than me.

If the game is opening in a window, right-click the shortcut icon on the desktop and select "Properties" and I think under "General" there should be "target" and check at the end of "target" for a "-w" extension without quotations (that's a window extension which opens the app in a window). If it has the extension either take out the extension or change it to "-f" without the quotations.

Once the game has started hold down alt and hit enter, that will take you to full screen.
