    Halo 2 install problemm >"<

    please help, i just got windows 7 and i wanna play halo 2 D:
    this message pops up the moment i put the disk in for installation ( means i havent installed it yet, but im putting it in for installation)

    Hi and welcome

    It is saying there are damaged or missing files. Did you download the dvd? if so you may need to download another copy. that dvd is toast

    Try navigating to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games and deleting any folders for Halo 2 in it.


    Oh, thats if your on 64-bit Windows, on 32-bit Windows it'd just be C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games

    Is the disc scratched at all?

    alittle bit, but i mean my halo 1 disk is WAYYYYYYYy worse, and it works completely fine

    Doesn't mean anything. I have a disc that looks like I dragged it across a road, but plays perfectly.

    I have another disc that has 2 small scratches on it, doesn't work.

    It all depends on 'where' the scratches are. Sometimes the DVD can still read a scratched area, sometimes it can't.

    Sorry for not responding, went to sleep.

    There are several things you can do actually, one is try repairing the scratch. Another method I will PM you.
