    No Mouse Visible in games

I fresh installed windows 7 home premium x64 on my computer, downloaded the latest drivers for graphics cards and sound card, installed a few fundamentals (chrome, vlc, winrar, etc) and tried to install Battle for Middle Earth II. The game installed fine, but when entering the game, it didn't have a visible mouse. I could click on things fine, but I was working blind. I tried reinstalling graphics driviers, direct X, and the game as well as changing compatibility settings and some graphics settings (disabling SLI), but it wouldn't work. I then tried Mass Effect and Command and Conquer 3, and both had the same problem, though Demigod had no trouble at all. It shouldn't be the hardware, as I was running both games more than fine in Vista before wiping the hard drive and installing 7. Any help you can give would be more than appreciated,

    Thanks

Note: Windowed Mass Effect Does allow default cursor to be displayed

This may not be the answer but, have you tried updating your mouseware? If you have mouse capabilities in windows it is very strange that you don't see it inside the game.

I have the same problem in 2 games of mine, Ankh 2 and 3. I have the latest Intellipoint and Wacom drivers installed. (I have a tablet, but also have a regular old mouse. neither work) I have lots of other games that display the mouse cursor just fine, even games that have other problems with Windows 7 like Fallout 3 (which will not launch if Aero is in effect on the desktop theme). (though, let me check my copy of Mass Effect and the Steam community for it)

My copy of Mass Effect does display the cursor. I have the Steam version, do you have the box version? Though my copies of Ankh are also from Steam, so... and, shockingly, for the first time i can recall, Steam is down, so can't check the community.

Found this... again, your miles may vary!

How to troubleshoot mouse pointer display issues in Microsoft games

The solution to the problem was to turn the trail off of the mouse and revert to the default or standard window mouse pointers.
    Another possible solution...
"I turned off mouse trails, disabled pointer shadow & disabled "hide pointer
    while typing".
It seems that almost everything points out to the same issue.

didn't work for me :-/ though I have been looking into the problem with Ankh and it does seem the problem runs very deep in that particular case. even if i could get the cursor to appear, it's unlikely it would work beyond that (and the developer still hasn't released a patch for VISTA, let alone Windows 7, despite promises that they would do so)
