    Crysis and windows 7

My computer has crashed (BSOD) quite a few times, but I think I've narrowed it down to crysis. It's crashed three times during a play through. Furthermore i cannot seem to enable very high settings either. This all seems rather ridiculous as my system specs are rather good: ati 4870, 4g RAM, intel core i5 750, ASUS p7p55d. Any thoughts on this one?

Has it crashed after a long time playing Crisis? If your settings are to high for your PC, you could be overheating..

Exactly. Try to cool your cpu down by puting ice under it (if its a laptop) or a fan of some sort.

It's a big tower I own, plus I have a CPU cooler attatched aswell. I'll download a gpu temperature recorder and see how much the graphics card is overheating.

Is it a new build? It could be a number of things, like a RAM issue for example.

Yes, but still a overheating issue, because Crysis is a very graphics intense game, and the BOSD's only happen there. If you could also check the heat in you RAM and CPU, it would be helpful.

I'm pretty sure my RAM isn't in any trouble, Ive run a RAM diagnostic tool and it all checks out well, also I have a water cooler directly attatched to the CPU. Therefore I'm pretty sure the answer lies with the graphics card

If you don't have the patches 1.2.1 and 1.2 you can forget about that game running right. Overheating GPU is the second biggest reason for that game not running correctly.
