    Just how STUPID is Microsoft?

That idiotic Tinker game requires Games For Windows Live to be installed and setup to install Tinker. I set up an account. It wants an email address. I sign up with my gmail address.

Now I can't login. It wants a hotmail address to login and my new gamertag is tied into an account I can't even friggin USE.

If they wanted a Hotmail address they shoud have rejected a gmail address. I can't login to even change my assigned email address to the gamertag and I'll refuse to sign up another just to play this stupid game.

Maybe that's just a part of their monopoly. :)

just open a Windows Live account - it's painless enough
then you can use the same password for all things "Live"

Windows Live Essentials is not as intrusive as people like to make out..
OK, so you may have turn off Messenger now and then, but so what..??
    - it's a really useful addition to your PC and it integrates with everything Microsoft, including Office Live..

PS: - all this talk of monopolies doesn't help the end-user one bit, IMO

That is a bit stupid. I have heard similar things with people registering a game (required to play the game) in a region which is not supported by GFWL, then not being able to play said game. When trying with different region settings, they are told that the game is tied to a different account.
    Basically, GFWL is broken.
