    modern warfare installation issue :(

    hello there, i have just downloaded the call of duty modern warfare and its showing some problem in installation. It comes up with error { this installer package could not be opened. Verify this package exist and that you can access it or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package. \cod4MW.}

    It would be great if some 1 can short out this problem, I am really dying to play this game

    Buy it!

    The error message you got seems to claim that the installer package (the .msi file through which the setup files are extracted) isn't supported in Windows 7 in some way. And since COD4 works on Windows 7 I can't even begin to imagine just what exactly did you download...

    Right click the setup.exe and go to Properties -> Security tab -> Open in compatibility mode with: XP and try again.

    Did you buy it online or download it from a bittorrent tracker? The latter is illegal FYI.

    I'd be willing to bet option #2. Go to amazon and pay the 10 bucks to get a valid copy.
