Thanks guys, I've done it! Another problem though. "Out of video memory!", hehe. Seems to come up when I drive too fast and the system can't keep up. My video card is nvidia geforce 9800 1g, 4g RAM, Core 2 Quad system.

Oh, man. I updated the game to version 1.0.0.4, and when I run it, it says "GTAIV.exe - Ordinal Not Found, The ordinal 5365 could not be located in the dynamic link library xlive.dll.". Help me!

mmm... are you using a pirated version of GTA 'cause this problem seems related to a crack.

Hi manong30 and welcome to the forums.

GTA 4 saved game is located in:
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames\user_#

If you are going to back up your game just copy all the "user_#" folder.
After installing the OS and the game:

    1. Sing-in to your account and start a new game.
    2. Skip the intro of the first mission and then exit the game.
    3. Go to the path above and it should be 2 folders the "user_invalid" and "user_#"
    4. Open the "user_#" folder and paste your "SGTA4#" file.

Now launch the game and it should load your previous saved game.
If you don't see the AppData folder in your computer please take a look at this tutorial.

Let me know if you got any mo' question.
im having the same problem - although when i go to c:\users\username there is no folder called AppData from that point? i cant find my save games folder anywhere.
