Okay...so it lets you run in windowed mode at max resolution with no border...LMAO if that isn't fullscreen than I don't know what is
No it's certainly NOT fullscreen mode.

Borderless max windowed mode is something that lots of gamers use in various games for numerous reasons. For example it's a godsend if you have a multi-monitor setup. Most games in fullscreen mode won't let you move the mouse from a fullscreen window to the next monitor without alt-tabbing out, which of course will also minimize the window. Using a maximised windowed mode (without borders) gives you all the real estate of fullscreen but avoids this problem.

Very handy in say mmorpg's when you need to look at and access the second monitor, mirc or vent access for example.

it is, however, kinda ****ty how bunked alt-tabbing is in tf2 fullscreen by default. i have no idea why it mucks so much stuff up.
I have noticed after you alt-tab back into the game that some players are invisible, just type "record afilenamehere" then "stop" will fix the problems, binding them to a key helps

Hopefully with the next update they will address these bugs, Its not Valve's fault these bugs occurred since they where caused by Microsoft with the changes they made with recent patches for Vista SP1/SP2 and Windows 7... Judging from the discussions over the last few months on the HLDS server list, I think they are waiting on information from Microsoft about the changes they made before releasing a fix so it doesn't cause even more bugs and issues

find hl2.exe in teh teamfortress 2 folder (i'm assuming this works for other games as well)

right-click the shortcut to the game you want to run (in this case hl2.exe) and select properties. There go to compatibility and check "Disable Desktop Composition"

    works

shuts down aero only as long as tf2 is running
Hi saiboat, I share the same frustration and i find that the above action works beautifully for me, I'd suggest you give it a try to resolve this current issue.

    Kudos to twotone8.

So this only affects windowed games? I have 2 monitors and having games windowed without borders really is great to multitask. I'm not a pro gamer though...just trying to figure out why assassin's creed lags more on win 7...is it because of direct x 10?
