I edited that reply. It was supposed to say Ahhh, I see, DirectX comes with the AOE disc. Then I asked if DirectX might already be on my computer. I did a search in programs but came up with nothing. I was wondering if DirectX comes with computers generally, or if it always comes with games. Don't know what happened to my reply.

    Welcome!

I have also noticed that you can play the CD in a CD player.

Try opening My Computer, and Opening the drive. Do not double-click it. Then run Setup.exe, or whatever the setup file is.

    Hope this helps,

this also work with the old PS1 games, Castlevania SOTN had a wonderful soundtrack it would play.

I found out that DirectX11 comes with Windows 7. You can see which version you have by doing this.:
Which version of DirectX is on your computer?
