    7 Compatabile Flight Game Suggestions?

Not sure if this is really the appropriate place, since it's not a tech issue, but hey, this is the Gaming subforum.

Anyway, I've been looking for a modern "Arcadey" flight sim/space sim, in the vein of the old Wing Commander games, or Crimson Skies, or even Descent. Something that isn't steeped in realism and having to track 20 different controls.

Oh, and it has to be single player. Unfortunately, where I'm stuck living right now (due to my finances being somewhat slim rent wise in this economy) I have satellite internet, which just... yeah, no internet gaming at all.

Anyway, I have Tom Clancy's HAWX (it actually came bundled with my newest joystick), which is fun but irksome in that it was designed more for a mouse than a joystick, and it does get old after awhile, playing the same missions.

Any suggestions would be welcomed. I'm just drawing a blank for good, recent combat flight/space sims.

    Thanks.

why aren't there any nice flight sims, the fighter combat ones for win7? did america's homeland security clamp down on such games? i'm looking for a modern game where i can fly a F22 or better aircraft and fire A2A and A2G missiles. I'm not looking for an arcade style game.

Have your considered MS FSX? You can add numerous addons to the default aircraft section. Below is a screenshot of one of my addons.
