    Battlefield 2: Complete Collection

Hi! I need some help to fix my battlefield issues. When i run BF2 the splash screen shows up as normal, then the screen goes black like if it was about to initialise, but then a message pops-up says: "BF2 er holdt op med at virke" which on english means something like "BF2 stopped working", then it searches for a way to repair it somehow, but nothing showes up. This happens everytime i run it. I'm using windows 7 64-bit. Please help me!

    Hi there,

Could you please fill out the rest of your system specs so we can better assist you? Click 'User CP' at the top of this page, then click 'Edit System Spec' on the left-hand side. Let me know if you have any questions!

    Cheers,

It does immensely. Also quite clearly shows what the problem is,

Graphics Card Integrated Intel® Graphic Media Accelerator 3100

BF2 does not now and never has supported Intel graphics. Even if you did manage to somehow get the game to run on it, it will look like crap and be a slideshow. Pretty much comes down to you want to play that game, you're going to have to get an actual video card. According to the specs for your Dell it does have a PCI-E x16 slot, so if you want to get a card let us know what kind of budget you have and we can recommend something.

This may help the other posters recommend a graphics card. Taken from a forum thread here (I confirmed elsewhere, but keep in mind this info is 5 years old now):

Battlefield 2 only supports the following video cards:

    Radeon X700 (PCIe)
    Radeon X600 (PCIe)
    GeForce 6600 (PCIe)
    GeForce PCX 5900 (PCIe)
    GeForce 5800 Series (AGP)
ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition
    ATI Radeon X800 PRO
    ATI Radeon 9800 Series
    ATI Radeon 9600 Series
    ATI Radeon 9550 (RV350LX)
    ATI Radeon 9500 / 9700 Series
    ATI Radeon 8500 Series
    ATI Radeon X300 Series
    NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra
    NVidia GeForce 6800 GT
    NVidia GeForce 6800
    NVidia GeForce FX 5950 Series
    NVidia GeForce FX 5900 Series
    NVidia GeForce FX 5700 Series

Your Machine should have a PCI-e video slot and not an AGP slot, so that 6800 wouldn't work in your Dell.
The 6800 (it was available as AGP and PCI-e) will run BF2 but unless you are getting that series of card for free, I wouldn't bother since it is so slow compared to current cards.

I know for a fact that BF2 works great on these cards, 8800GT, 9800GT, GTX 260, GTX 275, GTX 285.
In America, these cards sell for $100 to $400.
The GTX models might require you to upgrade your power supply in your Dell, but normal ATX power supplies won't fit into some Dell cases without modifying the case a little.
