I still stand by my statement and say it's not a "cable driver" Issue. It's either a faulty cable or the Controller itself needs drivers.
C1 - Dual Shock type PS1
C2 - Nuby Street Fighter fighting game PS2 controller
You say both these controllers work with the single port Radio Shack cable (A1) on your PC (W7 I presume?)
But neither Controller works with the multiport Brand X (A2), but did work under XP? OK, do you have access to any XP machine? Maybe you could see if the cable still works there?
Also, if you’re so sure that that cable requires a driver, try this on an XP machine – connect the multiport cable to the XP machine without the controller attached and notice any request for drivers via device manager. Then do the same with either controller attached to the cable.
If no driver was requested with only cable hooked up, but one was requested the controller hooked up, it’s the controller that needs the driver, not the cable!
Of course this test assumes that the cable is in good working order and can actually be done on any PC running Windows.
At any rate I'll bet a pretty good penny that if a driver request shows up, it'll be associated with the game pad. I could be wrong, I don't think so, but...
