I know this post is old so I hope somebody see's this. I am having an issue getting DC universe online to run without the frame rate dropping from 60-5fps whenever I move. I am almost positive it is because of W7 making me run dx11 when the game is supposed to run on 9. I see earlier in this post that it is possible to add a dx9 behind the shortcut? How do you do this and is it possible on a game that launches through steam and a launchpad?
I don't play DC Universe but I'm pretty sure it isn't a DX11 game. If it's not then Windows 7 isn't forcing the game to run in DX11 because the game isn't DX11 capable.

"If" the game is DX11 then there should be a setting in the game options to "downgrade" to a lower DX mode.

Here's a list of current and upcoming games that suport DirectX 11: List of games with DirectX 11 support - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

DC Universe isn't one of them.

    DX9

Yes unfortunately they do not have any options like that. I know some games do like WoW but this doesnt.

It's already running in dx9,it's a dx9 game just because it runs under windows 7 doesn't mean it runs in dx11 unless it's a game made specifically for dx11. Try updating your direct x drivers. link>>>> CLICK Download: DirectX End-User Runtime - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

    What he said.

DX11 is backwards capable, meaning it will play DX9 & 10 games just fine. If a game is DX9, Windows doesn't "force" it to run in DX11, but will run in the lowest DX mode in the system. In this case if Warhammer is a DX9 game then that's what Windows 7 will use for the DX mode.
