Windows 7: So what is this comp's bottleneck?!?!?!?!?!

One of the first things you're going to learn is that the trick to overclocking properly is doing it with as little voltage as possible; so you always start with stock vcore. While Slice may have the best intentions, and I believe he does, he's already steering you in the wrong direction by suggesting you increase voltage sight unseen. Never do that.

The second thing you're going to learn is how to test your oc before you boot into Windows, so you don't corrupt your OS and then have to hassle with a re-install. Memtest is a very good tool, use it. Tests 1-4 are fsb related, 5 and up memory related. It's well advised to remember this when testing your oc, which you must do religiously, so when you do see errors, and at some point you will, you will know where slight increases in voltage are necessary.

Here's a guide for your quad, and some other good reading:

Hard drive from one comp work in another comp like it did before?
My dad has expensive construction software that he needs on a day to day basis, but his laptop is dying and very slow. Currently his laptop runs Vista x86, and I wanted to give him my laptop that runs 7 x64. Could I swap the hard drives so that its an easy transition, or would that not work? Thanks...

I just bought a belkin easy transfer wire thinking it'll let me transfer files from one computer to another... it seems it just transfer whole accounts without asking me what I want to transfer over. I was looking for a better option than transferring to USB then transferring to other computer....

Hey everyone. I purchased a GTS 250 a while back, and I have never been really impressed with it's performance. I expect more out of it, I was wondering if it was my CPU that was not good enough to work side by side with my GPU. My specs are in the drop down menu below this post. thanks
