EVGA website offers the driver there for download

This is what to do if you have a Videocard like me download the drivers from the website not Windows Update the Videocard I have is the EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 SSC 55nm and EVGA website offers the driver there for download. After that enable the administrator account heres the how-to and install the driver from the admin account Hope this helps!

    Please Rep! Thanks

What to do if the Installer don't run ?

Extract the driver you got or download from there website if it works with vista the changes of it working with 7 is good try install it from the devmgmt.msc the old school way, the installer may not run thats why I said extract it with Winrar, 7zip what ever gets the job done hope this helps!

Are you uninstalling the existing drivers through device manager first?

When you uninstall through device manager, you must tick the "delete the driver software for this device" otherwise Seven will reinstate it's own drivers upon re-boot.

It might also be a good idea to run Driver Sweeper:

    Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

After uninstalling the drivers, re-boot into safe mode, run driver sweeper as admin, re-boot normally and re-install the nvidia drivers.

    Good call smarteyeball,
I'd do that and also clean up your reg with somthing like CCleaner here

I was going to say If it still reverts back to the old Windows drivers saying that their the best, you can go into DM (Device Manager) and click on install from list of drivers on my computer, and it will show you windows driver and the nvidia driver. You can force which one you want to be the Supreme and then the other one will go into hiding, in theory.
