    Build 7057 SLI problem

    Hi guys

Has anyone else noticed that with this build SLI crashes every game after a few minutes? The computer freezes and needs a hard restart, if SLI is off there's no problem. I have GTS8800 SLI with the 181.71 drivers

This has happened to every game i've tried.

I have build 7057 64bit , 8800GT's in sli and the latest drivers , but I have never had that problem yet . What does your event viewer say ? (maybe that would shed some light)
There are a lot of experienced people in these forums, so hopefully one may be able to help you soon.

    Not related to SLI

Had the same issues with the installed 181.71 and the PreRelease Drivers from WinUpdate. Installed the 182.50 for Vista64 since then no more crashes.

Was hard to find the reason since there were no entries in eventlog.

So try to install these drivers.

I had this problem in the 7000 build, but it was fine in 7057 for me with 181.71.

Try what palettenmann said and see how you get on.

Thanks for the replies guys, I will try the vista drivers. Although I have 32bit so I dont know how that will affect it. I will keep you all updated

BTW I've never tried a 64bit O/S, as I've heard some progs dont work with it. Is it worth having one for gaming and can my set-up support it?

    Mobo: Asus P5N-E_SLI
    CPU: intel Q6600 quad core @ 2.5Ghz
    Graphics 8800 GTS SLI
    Ram: 3Gig DDR2

    Thanks in advance

Those specs will handle x64 no worries and you can get an even bigger performance increase if you up your RAM a Gig or two.

I tried the new drivers but to no avail, the system still locks up with SLI enabled. I'm wondering if it is a bug within the 7057 x86 build.

Hi MrE , Have you tried cleaning the drivers out completely ? ... I did this the other night , because windows updated to the "WDM 1.1" (or something along those lines )video drivers. Im not sure what difference these drivers are over the 181.79 , but I cleaned them out with NFR (Nasty File Remover) This is set up to clean up drivers , and it always gives me a clean slate to work with.

I too am a gamer , and always stayed away from 64bit systems , but now i wont go back to 32 ! All the programs I use (and games) are fully compatible these days ... give it a go , I think you will be pleasantly surprised

    Hi Ehoa

yeah I do the whole shebang when it come to cleaning drivers, boot into safe mode and use driver cleaner pro and driver sweeper before installing new drivers.

You guys have me sold on the 64bit issue, I'm def gonna give it a go :)
