    AOEII All Three Games

    Hi

I am new here and I am having serious problems installing and playing all AOEIII games on Windows 7 Build 7077. On all the other Windows 7 builds (including from the first original 7000 Beta), they all worked perfectly, as did the older and the latest TAD fan patch but since reinstalling to Windows 7 build 7077, all three games just don't seem to want to install? Well, I should say that they install after a fashion and with a few problems but the games won't even open to actually play them and it's becoming a nightmare! Could anyone kindly offer any assistance please, as I don't really want to have to reinstall back to an earlier build if I can help it? Cheers!

Windows 7 is still full of bugs and I'm sure as soon as Microsoft realise the problem exist they will fix the problem, if they haven't already.

Many thanks. I am using a 'leaked' RC1 release so I should probably have not mentioned it anyway? Cheers again! :)

Psssst the title says AOEII, not sure if needed but i installed the latest MSXML 4.0 because windows 7 does not include 4.0 . The game installs 4.0 but it is an older version.

Well I tried that idea and the games still didn't want to work at all.

Looks like I might have to go back to build 7057 after all? Thanks anyway?

    Cheers!

You could try running it in compatibility mode with administrator permissions just to cover all the bases.

Well I did try that, running in compatibility mode and as administrator, for XP SP2 and in fact, everything else I tried as well, in compatibility mode but still no joy? I think it must be something to do with build 7077 as the other builds worked fine? I just downloaded the demo of EA's BattleForge and by the time it took ages to update to nearly 3Gb, that played perfectly, though a little slow as I only have an nVidia GeForce 7300 Go in my laptop.
