Try something simple, like choosing Run as Administrator... See if that will help.

Also, if this is a Steam game, you can right-click on it in the games tab, and choose properties. Click on the launch options options button (or whatever it says) and put in this:

    Code:
    -dxlevel 90

Im running the x86 build. I even just now did a full format/reinstall of 7077 and still get that same error message.
im running 7077 x64 and it works fine

if you can try getting 7077 x64, it may work.
also are you downloading combat arms from their site every time you install and reinstall, or do you have it burnt to a disc?

I've got an Athlon 64 3500+ in the machine in question, so I may try that. Problem is if this bug holds it'll delay my switchover to 7 as my daughter and sons machines (they both play this as well) are 32 bit chips (2.2GHz Celeron and 1.5GHz Sempron) and they wont want to lose this game as well. Not to mention my loss of it.

I understand, Then I guess you should revert back to build 7068 as it worked there. There isnt a major difference between the 7077 and 7068
