It's the Administrator logo, not sure how you would remove it though.

only way to get rid of it is disable UAC, which i DONT recommend

Srsly, no other way? There has to be some kind of a trick similiar to removing shortcut arrows.

well i did find an oddity with easybcd's icon, where i turned UAC off so the icon went away, then when i switched it back on it didnt come back, you could try that?
