    windows games


    I like to play solitaire and freecell and spider solitaire so I put the icons on my desktop for easy acsess but ever so often the icons just disappear they are no where to be found there just gone completely, My flight sim is gone also and I have to do a system restore to get them back....What to do????? TIA GaryD

    Hello Gary,

    You might check to see if the Show Desktop icons is still checked when this happens, and save your theme afterwards.

    Strange. Have you tried to see if they might return after logging off and on, or restarting the computer?

    Did you create the shortcuts directly from the game's EXE file?

    Do you notice any pattern to when this happens? For example, after playing any games, or running any utility program.

    You might also consider either creating a shortcut of the hidden C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Games folder to the desktop, or pinning this folder to the taskbar for a expanding Games folder to see how if it may work better for you until we can find out why the shortcuts are disappearing on you.

    no such folder as C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Games ...............
    Restarting the computer does nothing for this problem
    I did create them from the games .EXE file
    this time it happened after I went to my ISP web site
