    Have you tried a no-dvd crack fix ? The problem may be software protection that a crack will bypass. It's not illegal since you have the legit media.

    ok so tried what you suggested, got a new error message. but this time it shows up in the event viewer here is the screen shots

    Short of double checking your copy is one of the ones that 'work' (mentioned in that codemasters link) re-installing, and making sure the patch is the same version as the fix, running with Win 98/ME compatibility - TBH mate, I don't know what to suggest from here.

    well i know its one that works its been running on our xp for..... four years i think, but for the life of me i can't get it to work on vista.... oh well looks like i'll just have to get another hdd and put xp on it
