Screen turns black in the middle of the game

Sorry it read a bit confusing. I should have mentioned that the fan that went bad on that particular gpu still works fine. It just has a bad berring and is noisy. I ran diagnostics on it and the other gpu as well and after extensinve testing both are working properly. I did mention that if you put that gpu back in the pc it came out of everything runs fine. all games and apps, no black screen, so it can't be the gpu causing the issue. It works great as long as it is not installed in the other computer. The crazy thing about this is that the gpu with the bad fan works in both pc's but the new one only works in one. I don't understand this at all. Also when the issue happens it's with the gpu that is brand new has no fan issue that is installed when the problem happens not the older one with the bad fan

I had this problem in the past were my screen would just randomly go black, then come back after say 20 seconds.

At first i thought it was my HDMI connection to my monitor. So i reverted to DVI. Same thing kept happening. It would even do it when i was just sat at the desktop doing nothing at all.

In my case i found out exactly what was causing it. Firefox Hardware Acceleration. Basically all i had to do was go in to Firefox options/advanced and untick "Use hardware acceleration when available". Not had the problem since. And funny enough i never once thought it was Firefox but it made sense seeing as i usually always have it open in the background.

So that was, in my case. The solution.

I had an issue with firefox but it wasn't black screen, it was fatal exception blue screens. It took us 7 days of figuring the issue out then someone suggested getting rid of firefox completely. So we did and the issue vanished. I have not used firefox since and never will again. So obviously my issue isn't caused by that. Wish it was because then I could fix it simply by uninstalling firefox. I'll be honest, I had a whole variety of PC issues that all vanished when I got rid of firefox, so I pretty much think it sucks. Thanks for the reply.
