    Error while installing quake live

When trying to install quake live I get this message: Error reading from file: C:\ProgramData\id Software\QuakeLive\iecleanup.vbs. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
This is the first time trying to install it on this comp and I get the same error everytime trying to install it.

Using internet explorer btw, if that has any impact on anything.

Try using another browser, like Firefox or Chrome. Also, try running Internet Explorer as Administrator by right clicking and choosing "Run as Administrator". Hit "Yes" when the dialog box comes up. Does that work?

    There are two ways:

    1.) Make a folder called C:\temp

2.) Make another folder inside of C:\temp called 'install' e.g.: now you would have C:\temp\install

3.) Save QuakeLiveNP.msi from the QLive site to C:\temp

    4.) Close your browser

4.) Go to start menu --> Run --> type in: 'cmd'

5.) copy and paste this, without the quotes: "msiexec /a C:\temp\QuakeLiveNP.msi /qb TARGETDIR=C:\temp\install"

6.) Now you should have a bunch of files in C:\temp\install

    7.) Copy the following files:
    npcleanup.vbs
    npquakezero.dll
    pbsvc.exe

to: C:\ProgramData\id Software\QuakeLive and overwrite the files that are currently there. C:\ProgramData\id Software\QuakeLive is the location on Vista, I'm not sure where it would be on XP, but to find out just run a windows search of where npquakezero.dll is and it willl tell you the proper directory to copy the files to for XP.

    8.) Run npcleanup.vbs from C:\ProgramData\id Software\QuakeLive

9.) Restart your browser and enjoy
    Or, for Firefox:

    I fixed it in Firefox....

I have downloaded an older version "QuakeliveNP.msi" from Plunder.com. After installing the older version, in Firefox is shown the Plugin QuakeLive(quakezero). Now I restart Mozilla and update normally with the new downloadable QuakeLiveNP.

I suggest that sometimes the Download of the new updatefile QaukeLive.msi are incomplete. If i did like discribed above, I haven't the file npcleanup in the folder c:\temp\install.

Just give the older version a try.

    It works for me.
