can't run SIMS 2 on windows 7 after installation

hi. can you help me out here? can sims 2 be played on windows 7? is sims 2 compatible with windows 7? because i've tried to install sims 2 on my laptop and after completing the installation, and pressing "run the program", it says that "Please insert the correct CD-ROM, press Okay and restart". where is the problem? is it with the CD or with the compatibility? thanks.

Hello everybody!
I have the same issue as the one posted before. I have installed the sims 2 game on my Windows 7 ultimate and the installation went fine. Unfortunatly, I can't play the game because of that error of compatibility. Although, I've checked on windows compatibility site and it says the game is comapatible!

Hi kitten07,

If the updates alone don't work, try running the game in Compatibility Mode for Windows XP SP2. Let me know if that helps.

I've installed it all over again and tried with sims 2 deluxe and ran that compatibility with windows xp SP2. BUT when I try to run the game it says "Conflict with Emulation Software detected" :cry: This is wearing me out. My emulation soft is Magic ISO

You didn't mention you were using ISO software. Now we're back to square one where this thread started. I'll the same question nekkidtruth asked: Is this a legit copy, or one you've downloaded?

my sims 2 game doesnt work my friend burnt on to disk and it says that the disk is not in there and restart when the disk is in there plz help me

I had also problems with The Sims 2 on Windows, and after experimenting, it started running!Try right-clicking on the incon,than click Properties and than find compatibility and than choose windows pack service 2.If it doesn't work,I dont know.Btw you need to play it with the CD,what I didn't knew until I found it on net...
