I mean, ya it works, but you downgraded for it. I would have just lowered the stuff to keep on 7. I hope you just went and got like tinyxp or something for gaming and kept your w7.

I like this lol.. Xp is less resource hungry, but it is dying now. This made me laugh tho.

Its true. XP is being left out of everything now. Intel doesn't even give XP the optimized gfx drivers like it does w7. On w7 games can run even on intels IGP/

no worries pedala. I meant no disrespect. sorry.

I was just suprised to see your fix was going back to xp. I feel if I had been in the same spot I would have done the same thing. and i probably would have posted the same. (i didn't have XP to switch to)

I just got GTA IV a few days ago and was looking into the same problem it was jerky for me as well and I have a good system. i saw your system specs and they are on par with mine.

I did find a fix though:

If you do happen to take the Windows 7 path, there is a patch for GTA IV that makes it run smoother. just run the social club and let it install the patch it adds more sections to the Graphics options so you can turn more things up/down. It also cleared up the lag/jerky effect.

I installed this patch yesterday and saw improvements.

My gta 4 had a problem. My gta 4 not run after installing the patch.
This is why I haven't installed the path
    .

I will try to resolve this problem!

I have the patch which was done automatically by steam. It says more graphics options? Is this the "very high" edition? I never noticed it untill now, since I already have it all on high. I see no difference though. I know mine is updated because the rockstar launcher is gone and it gives me the option to also buy/play liberty city stories.
