Graphics Card - Overclock

I am overclocking but only to the 700mhz CCC lets me. Pretty sure thats not the cause though, because I had it the same on XP and it didnt have an issue. I will try though.
If you are OCed AT ALL (even at factory settings its possible), it is probably more than the card can handle. Downclock it until it is stable.

Still happens on default clock.

Your card may be going bad, or there is something else wrong.

Can you download new drivers and see if that helps?
I am not sure how we can definitively label the card bad though. It may also be getting too hot, what are you temps?

I already have 10.3 and it only happens in GTA4. Other games are fine. Its JUST gta4. I refuse to believe a card can be bad because 1 game is running weird. Again, no issue when I used XP. I guess its just w7 not liking it. I'll just ignore it. If you took the time to read my first post, you would know the temp its reaching already, and that its not a fatal temp.

My mistake, 60C is way safe.

Just the one game... Does that game use PhysX and no other game does or something?
As someone mentioned above (YES, I see you use Steam), check for updates (do it anyways...)

I would agree, it is not likely it is a bad card.
Also, your problem does not sound like artifacts, it sounds like poor programming...

Nah it does not. I think I figured it out. When it finishes loading, the only thing to show weirdness is like, street lamps. Certain angles wont show. Sometimes store windows too. I think it has something to do with loading. I went to options, and with everything maxed I still only used like 300/512mb. I upped the distance of loaded objects in view so the city loads much faster and am only on about 400mb used. I think its just loading slow. Other than that, I cannot figure why.

That makes more sense.

Yea I think this is it. I was in a chase and it took me far out of the area I was in and it started again. Problem solved, its just loading slower on w7.

Checking around, it can also be just because gta4 is said to be a bad port for pc. That can add on to it. Would you believe googling for clues, this is the first link?

GTA4 lag
Ok I just upgraded to w7 pro, and I must say I enjoy it. Moved my save file over all is good, but it lags now. The loading is slower too. Is it because w7 actually uses my ram, or is there more to it? If I turn off Vsync it runs smoother but with page tearing. What can I do?
