Doom on Zune HD
With the release of openZDK, third party games and apps are likely going to become more prevalent and more well written as time goes on. One of the first major third-party games to hit the ZuneHD after the release of openZDK is the classic FPS Doom.
I've just installed this onto my ZuneHD and, while the controls take some getting used to, it plays really well and kinda brings me back to the old days a bit. If you have a ZuneHD (or even an older model Zune), I would recommend downloading it. In order to deploy it to your Zune, you will need XNA Game Studio 3.1 and XNA Extension Tools for ZuneHD and possibly Visual C# 2008 Express Edition. The games and apps are fairly easy to install, even if you have never used C# before and, with openZDK games, most of them come with a deployment exe.
Here are some links, one to the Doom game itself and a couple for install instructions for both XNA and openZDK games and apps.

By the way, this isn't just for games. I compiled and installed an app last night that lets me use my ZuneHD as an ebook reader. Now I don't have to go out and buy a Nook or Kindle. :)
