Arma II maxed out looks like it's 2004 all over again.
Visuals aside, Arma II would be a good game (great immersion and vastly superior to that awful OFP Dragon Rising) - Except it runs like an absolute mongrel dog.

Maybe one of the many available beta patches has improved it since I last tried it, but I have to admit I gave up on it around 1.04 or 1.05.

GTA IV is great and should run well.
It is great, but Define well

To get decent gameplay, a lot of settings will have to be lowered on the OP's specs.

I want to get FarCry2 because I know the GFX are gonna be way better.
The graphics are indeed better - the gameplay itself, not so much

Yeah...what he said. I gave it a try and promptly quit. Too much running around doing the same thing

    Nice visuals though :)

By well, I meant medium settings should present no lag. I have a gaming laptop and it runs with medium to high settings without any lag.

I also noticed that setting the draw distance higher helped with getting less lag when going into open areas as most of the drawing has already been computed.

But yes, Well is open to interpretation. Some people dont consider a game running well unless all settings are max and >45fps is achieved.

I consider well to be no lag. and not lowest setting/crappy graphics.

Hmmm...Farcry2, I might wait on then and get something else. thanks for info on gameplay.

To be fair to Far Cry 2, it's one of those games that seems to have a 50/50 love/hate relationship. You either love it or hat it.

I say do some reviews on it before deciding; and if you can find it for a good price (less than $19.99) you "might" want to go for it. It has some really nice graphics.

As for me, I think it's boring and repetitive

There are many good games mentioned here.

If you like city builders/strategy type games, Tropico 3 might be worth checking out.
Alot of mangement with city building. Not for everyone by any means, but a really good game if you like this type of gameplay.

Beyond that, some of my favorites are:
Fallout 3, Mass Effect 1 & 2 , Bioshock (1 more so then 2), Dragon Age Origins, Dead Space

Now maybe you can talk me into Dragon Age like I talked you into Fallout 3

I'm glad you did. I can't believe I missed that game, I enjoyed it a great deal.
A must have and most certainly worth the purchase without a doubt.

DA:O is an excellent game IMHO. It is worth a try for sure. :)
The only bad thing I can say about it is that, due to the type of game play, you'll either love it or hate it.
