I managed to get COD4 MP running without pb kicks using that tutorial, enjoy: T3CHWORKS Windows7 COD4 P.S: I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate RC (latest version by microsft) x64 This is what you have to do: Install clean installation of COD4 whever JUST NOT IN PROGRAM FILES!!! I installed on my 2nd disk. Install latest cod4 patch (1.7) use pbsetup.exe to update ur punkbuster do exactly what the link above says Congratz, you got COD4 MP great without any kicks on Windows 7 x64 :)
That's an interesting note about not installing COD4 into the default win 7 program files (x86) folder. When I reinstalled W-7 RC, I installed 7 onto a separate hard drive. I usually install the OS onto one partition and all programs onto a second partition on the same HD. Installed Steam on the second programs only partition, named it Programs and after installing Steam I loaded COD 4. I downloaded the most recent pbsetup.exe from EB's site and updated the main PB file in COD 4. I launched the MP and finally played without getting kicked. I can finally run COD4 MP on 7!

When you installed, did you install the game to the default Program Files (x86) folder?

What version W-7 are you running?

Installed 7100, QuakeLive and CoD 5 World at War work fine.

Upgraded to 7137, QuakeLive works fine but CoD 5 World at War does not; Punkbuster kick all the time. Now this is even stranger, CoD 4 works fine.

So, not sure why CoD 5 does not work and yet CoD 4 does. Crazy disparity!

    UPDATE!!!
    ----------
I stand corrected, even CoD 4 now kicks me. Which now leaves me only one choice, and that is to try version 7127, as some report that Punkbusters does not kick them in this beta version. I will update once I have installed it...

    Hey Guys,

What do you mean by "going back to 7127" ?

Does switching builds involve a new installation of W7 or is it easier than that ?

I'm running 7100 now, and I would like to try 7127, but I don't wanna uninstall everything.

Sorry for being a little off topic, but this might solve some problems I'm running.

    Thanks.

I'm running 7100 x64 and have no issues with COD4 using the "run as administrator" tip. My only problem is my FPS so I'll keep booting to XP for playing and use 7 as my primary for everything else.

You don't have to uninstall everything, you could just do what I do and install the newer build of Windows 7 on a different drive; then in bios just change the order of the drives to boot into whichever version you wish to. Alternatively, just install Windows 7 7127 onto another partition and dual boot with your 7100 version.

Of course, if you don't have more than one drive or partition, then you will have no other choice than to reformat and install a new build; in which case you will have to install all the programs again; but please make sure you have backed up all the essential files before you reformat.

    Hope this helps...
