SideWinder Force Feedback Wheel (USB)

Hey guys. I'm new to the forum, but i thought this would be a good place to put this thread in.

I recently bought this steering wheel and it installs the driver very well, but when i try to play driving games, the car is on reverse the whole time unless i push gas or put the gas in the middle and the same happens in menus. The menu goes downwards the whole time unless i put gas in the middle. Looking at the axis, it is down the whole time and moves to left or right if i move the wheel or up if i push the gas. I think it should be in the middle.

Any instructions?

Do you think someone could post the drivers because i have the old gameport version with usb adapter and i have sidewinder 3.0 software on disk but its 32 bit and i have a 64 bit operating system

Try typing "controller" in the Start menu search field and clicking "Set up USB game controllers." There should be an option to configure/calibrate your SideWinder wheel there. Let me know if changing any of those settings helps.

I tried that. The steering wheel is working today though. The only issue is, that is has no force feedback working which make the driving games a bit messy, but it is better than nothing. If you have any tips on getting the force feedback working, i would be glad to know.

I was able to calibrate my USB force feedback wheel and it works fine with EVO 4x4 racing. I just needed to flip the throttle or brake axis (z rotate) to keep it from going backwards when off the gas.

Has anyone found drivers for either 32 or 64-bit versions of Window 7? I have tried the latest Need for Speed Hot Pursuit on both windows 7 versions. I was able to assign the controller's steering, petals and buttons in the game's setup program in the Win7 32 bit version but only the steering and pedals on the Win7 64 bit. On both, the game setup recognizes both the sidewinder input and keyboard but all the sidewinder controls are blank and need to be setup. I can set the buttons on the wheel when the game is running on Win 7 32 but not on Win 7 64. In both versions of Windows 7 the wheel is recognized as a HID-compliant game controller in Device Manager. On the XP driver for this device you could test all the buttons, pedals and calibrate the steering. The Win7 driver does not recognize the buttons or paddle shifters inputs and I haven't found a way to calibrate it.
Ironically, can still play the old version I bought in 2002 of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 and although when it starts up I get a message about the controller not being recognized as a sidewinder everything works fine on 32-bit win 7 and I haven't tried it on 64-bit win7.
Although the wheel was sold by Microsoft it was manufactured by another company and is no longer supported.
I also have the same problem with the car being at full throttle during countdown and then going into reverse if the peddle is not pressed down. I think is because of the device driver
